May 8, 2010:  Tracey qualified 6th of 15 cars. She was battling hard, even going three wide for a position with a former National Champion, who she was outrunning for a good portion of the race. On a restart on lap 36, as Tracey shifted from 3rd to 4th, she lost power at the rear wheels & felt something dragging under the car, so she knew something broke. Pulling into the pits, the team found that Tracey had suffered a broken rearend, as the bolts that go through the bells to the tubes broke & the center section was at a 45 degree angle. This in turned broke/bent the driveshaft, & knocked a chunk out of the tailshaft housing on the transmission. Between races, Mike picked his Ace car up from the shop, and Tracey started it & rode for 2 laps in the 2nd race. She was credited with a 14th & 15th place finish in each race

April 10, 2010: Tracey arrived at the track Saturday still sick from an illness, possibly the flu, she had all week leading up to the race. By Friday night, she had all but lost her voice, but was determined to perform the best she could for her race. Tracey even clocked her personal best qualifying time at Orange County Speedway with 14.36 second lap. This put her in the 5th starting position. After the redraw, Tracey found herself still starting where she qualified in 5th. It was a cold night & on the green flag, Tracey spun her tires & dropped to 7th. She avoided a lap 2 incident, but was spun by a competitor on lap 8. Tracey worked her way back to 5th during the race, but eventually wound up finishing 7th. Tracey made the comment that she thought the car was better than where she finished, but didn't want to push it too hard after being so sick.

Tracey opened the 2010 season at Orange County on March 27th with a 9th place finish after starting 10th. She battled a tight racecar for a majority of the 100 lap event. She was up to 7th at one point during the race.

Tracey finished 5th in the final Late Model Stock Car point standings at Orange County Speedway with 12 starts, 11 top tens, 3 top fives and one top three finish in 2009.

Tracey along with her teammate & brother, Mike Chambers were at the Performance Racing Industy Show in Orlando, Florida, December 10-12, 2009. They were also able to visit Daytona International Speedway while the Rolex Sports Car Series was testing in preparation for the Rolex 24 Hours at Daytona.

Tracey was at the Carolina Collector Auto Fest, November 13-15, 2009, NC State Fairgrounds, Dorton Arena, signing autographs at the 5after5 ($5 after 5pm) Pit Party on Friday, Nov. 13th. Thanks to all who attended!

Tracey was passing for 6th position when she was hit in the LR quarter panel by another driver, causing her to spin & hit the wall. Another car spun & hit Tracey's front end. She brought her car in for repairs & was able to make it back out for a couple of more laps before retiring for the night. Tracey stated, "We didn't qualify great & I was working my way through the field, when I got caught up in the accident. I was up to 6th when it happened & was faster than the 5th place car. The positive thing is that we were able to get back out there & pulled out a top 10 for the night."

Make a difference, one twist at a time!

Here is an opportunity for everyone to help in a great way. There is a Nash County child who has cancer, but she has no insurance. You can help her by collecting all plastic twist tops, from drinks, any jugs, detergent, etc. For every 40,000, she will receive a free cancer treatment. We are informed she has received several such free treatments to date.  All you have to do is collect all plastic tops that you normally throw away, and bring them out to Orange County Speedway or give them to us at any other track we race. We are saving our caps before taking our plastic to be recycled...you should too! Help make a difference, one twist at a time!!!

Ran in top 5 majority of race

April 20, 2009 (Rougemont, NC) Tracey Chambers opened up the 2009 racing season on April 18th at Orange County Speedway with a 100 lap Late Model race on the schedule. Starting the race in the 8th position, Tracey was running 5th by lap 23. Being the best battle of the race, Chambers and Brandon Baker battled for the top 5 spot for a good portion of the race.  Baker kept sticking the nose under the #77 machine, but Chambers held the position slamming the door each time. Coming out of turn 4, Chambers had to let out to the throttle due to a severe push, allowing Baker to get a good run. The following lap going into 3, Baker cleared Chambers only to allow her to pull a quick crossover move pulling back on the inside of  the 29 machine coming out of turn 4. Chambers had the spot when a caution came out the following lap. OCS rules revert back to the last completed lap, handing Chambers a tough break, as she was put back in the 6th position.  After the restart, Chambers battled the #18 car of Tripp Massengill for the 6th position. Running a hard, but clean race in which many have stated as being “one of the best races she’s ever driven”, Chambers eventually wound up in the 7th position at the checkers. “I’m pretty happy with tonight,” Chambers stated. “I really wanted that top 5 finish after running there most of the race, but the car tightened up on me. We seemed better in the long run, and towards the end of the race, we kept having cautions come out. We are going to go home and make a couple of small changes and hopefully be even better the next race.” The next race for the Late Model division is scheduled for May 9th with twin 75's on tap.

March 15, 2009 (Timberlake, NC) After a lack of sponsor support kept Tracey Chambers off track during the 2008 racing season, she is ready to tackle the asphalt again in 2009! Although not behind the wheel of a stock car last year, Tracey was at the track on a weekly basis. Her brother, Mike, ventured out to several tracks including Southern National Raceway Park, Ace Speedway, Caraway Speedway, and Orange County Speedway, and it was not unusual for Tracey to be the only crewmember at the track with him. During the season, she was invited by Lyn St. James to attend the annual Women in the Winner’s Circle Luncheon at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway during the week of the NASCAR Brickyard Race. While in Indy, Tracey stayed for Cup Series practice at the speedway and also made the trip to O’Reilly Raceway Park for the Sprint/Midget event and for the NASCAR Truck Series race. Tracey also worked on her marketing skills by attending the 2nd Annual Performance PR Plus Marketing Summit in January 2009. There she met many leaders in the racing industry who gave excellent advice and tips Tracey plans on implementing throughout her career.

Over the last year, the Tech Racing team has built a new late model that Tracey will debut in April. She has tested the car twice and is excited about the upcoming season. Tracey hopes to run the full schedule at Orange County Speedway in Rougemont, NC with possible visits to other tracks on off weekends. The season opening event for Orange County is scheduled for April 18th.
